SALT LAKE CITY — Jacobsen Construction is the winner of the 2025 Best of State award in the General Contractor category in Utah, marking the company’s 12th Best of State honor since 2014.
The prestigious recognition, announced by Best of State on Sunday, is a nod to Jacobsen’s signature achievements over the past year in the Beehive State. These included the completion of the Primary Children’s Hospital Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Campus (Lehi), Grand Hyatt Deer Valley (Park City), Astra Tower (Salt Lake City), The Opal Apartments (West Valley City), The Grandeur at Holladay Hills (Holladay) and more.
“We lead very diverse projects — education, places of worship, hospitals and clinics, hotels, multi-family housing, recreation, research, manufacturing and more,” said Gary Ellis, Jacobsen’s president and CEO, in the company’s recent annual report to employees. “And together, we do it very successfully. We’re Built for Life! That’s what we do and why we do it: for the life that goes on in the places we build.”
The highly competitive Best of State awards are evaluated by independent judges from across Utah, who look at three main key criteria: demonstrated achievement in the company’s field of expertise, innovation and creativity, and meaningful contributions to improving Utahns’ quality of life.
Jacobsen has won Best of State awards in 10 of the past 12 years, in recognition of the firm’s success on projects with an enduring influence on day-to-day life in communities throughout Utah. Years with multiple Best of State wins awarded to Jacobsen include 2021, when the company was additionally honored with the Best of State Statue — the top prize among all category winners in the Business Services Division.
The annual Utah Best of State gala will be held on June 10 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, where Jacobsen and this year’s other winners will be formally presented with their awards.
